Fresh Fruits and Vegetable

Don’t miss an opportunity to eat more fresh fruits and vegetables.

Good morning. This is Dr. Joe Cincotta. Did you know that among other things, June is Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Month? Now I know that one of our former Presidents did not have good things to say about broccoli, but don’t let that influence your approach to fruits and vegetables. We are entering the season where these fresh items will be more available to include in our daily diet. Don’t miss this opportunity. From roadside stands, to the local farmer’s markets, to the array of fresh fruits and vegetables at your favorite grocery store, and even to your own backyard garden – each site offers the finest and healthiest produce from our area. What we eat and how much we eat are two vital components to building good health. We all can make healthy food choices. Add a little color to your food choices with the variety of fruits and vegetables available. Make it a permanent part of how you eat. It will show in your health. And, don’t take the advice of or follow the example of some of our current and former politicians when it comes to doing what is good for your health. Rather, listen to what our mothers told us all about eating our vegetables and fruit. Enjoy your trip to the market or harvesting from your garden. Thank you.
